Dash: snippets & documentation

18 November 2013 by kristarella 3 Comments

I’ve been using Dash as one of my code snippet managers (along with Gist for public snippets & Coda). I originally chose Dash for its shortcut auto-fill features (and it’s free with in-app upgrade on the Mac App Store!), but have recently found its offline documentation completely excellent. I primarily use the WordPress and PHP […]

Google Maps for iPhone: woooot!

13 December 2012 by kristarella

The official Google Maps for iPhone came out today! I’m pretty excited. Apple maps wasn’t so bad, if you live in California and possibly inner-city China. I thought the design of Apple Maps was pretty great, I liked the layout of the directions and how you could swipe across to see the next step of […]

Photogene2 for iPhone

28 February 2012 by kristarella

This is a truly underrated app! Okay, maybe not literally since it has an average of 4.5/5 stars on the app store and most reviews are 5 stars. However it seems like no one in the tech podcasts that I listen to ever mention it, but they mention Snapseed often… Snapseed is cute, but I […]

Free iPhone apps to ‘view source’

4 October 2010 by kristarella

This weekend, while I was out all day, I found myself wanting to respond to questions on my blog and for one of those I needed to check out the source code of the questioner’s website. The ability to view the source code of a web page is easy from your desktop computer, but it’s […]

Edit EPS files in Inkscape on Mac

4 March 2010 by kristarella

EPS files have their uses, for sure, but they seem to be a standard output of Adobe Illustrator, which is a bit sad, because Inkscape (the open source vector editor I use) can’t open them (without some hassle with ghostscripts or something). Recently I needed to change the colour of an EPS image and I […]

My favourite iPod Touch apps

27 February 2009 by kristarella

I don’t know if everyone does this total nerd out when they get an iPod Touch or an iPhone, but I did. I went looking for the best free apps I could get before I paid for any. Here’re my favourites for whoever is looking next.

130 today, combination of pushups and squats. I tr 130 today, combination of pushups and squats. I tried to do some pushups that targeted chest muscles rather than shoulders... I think I succeeded.Relationships are hard. We are all flawed beings who often struggle to understand ourselves, let alone others. Relationship breakdowns are really hard, I definitely see how mental health can plummet in times like that. Reach out for help if you need it!

Not gonna lie, I don't really understand today's s Not gonna lie, I don't really understand today's stat... It's to do with sustainability and how more people are getting eco anxiety, but I really don't know what it means that we're using 1.6 earths every year. I guess it's some combination of overusing resources and over-producing waste, but under that multiplier I'm not sure how we're not living like WALL-E already 🤔
I did 120 pushups and 40 squats today.

Silver medal 🥈 in the kumite tournament today! Silver medal 🥈 in the kumite tournament today! I entered with very little expectations on myself other than to meet the challenge, and not only did I do that, but I scored an ippon (full point rather than half point – only a few techniques qualify)!Watching the video, I find the way my legs and feet move quite bizarre 😆 something to work on another day. Thanks everyone for making it a great day!#gkrkarate #karate #kumite

175 push-ups for the 17.5% of Aussies who saw a mental health professional last year.
While 175 was quite enough for me today, 17.5% is pretty low given the number of people with mental illness, and the fact that these professionals can also help you through grief, hardship, relationship issues... Things other than mental illness that everyone will probably face at some point. It's okay to ask for help!
