WordPress using Coda and MAMP

6 August 2008 by kristarella

Venturing into the world of Coda A few things brought me to test out Coda. When I first heard about Coda I didn’t look too closely because of the price tag, but after Esben’s comment on my Smultron post, I downloaded the trial. Soon after I started testing it I realised that it’s not really […]

Replacing Smultron icons

5 July 2008 by kristarella

Smultron is my text editor of choice. It’s easy to use and has some nifty features that after 18 months of use, I’m only just starting to use. I think it’s the best, free text editor for Mac OS X, and probably even surpasses some not free ones as well. There’s probably some sweet improvements […]

Making and editing a screencast

2 July 2008 by kristarella

On Monday night (a week and a half ago) I recorded a screencast tutorial (or tutecast as Gio called it). It was the first time I’d tried something like that. It took several attempts and a week of trying to compress the video to get it right. It might take a bit more practice to […]

Grid masking: video tutorial

29 June 2008 by kristarella

Check it out! My first video tutorial. In this tutorial I create the following image while demonstrating rounded rectangles and tiled clones in Inkscape, as well as text, masks, pasting into masks, and some shortcuts in GIMP. It’s taken me a week to find the right way to compress this video to a reasonable size […]

Friday visits and expressions

28 June 2008 by kristarella

I can’t believe Saturday is almost over! Nan update On Friday Gran, Mum and I visited Nan (the grandma I mentioned before, who has cancer). I think we were expecting her to be awake, not feeling so great, possibly in bed, but capable of getting up and around. It was quite a shock when we […]

18 Image editors and creators for Mac OS X

25 May 2008 by kristarella

I found myself wanting to make a quick sketch to get an idea out of my mind, while I got on with something else. I could have gone and got my Moleskine, but it’s nearly full and I didn’t want to start a new project in there. I could have opened up GIMP, but it’s […]

Built the Lego Succulents this week. I like the li Built the Lego Succulents this week. I like the little blurbs they write about each plant, like how the moon cactus (tall one at the back) needs to be grafted onto another to grow because of its red chlorophyll. I wasn’t keen on the suggested arrangement with the small ones around the outside because I’ll have this on a shelf, so I rearranged them, but I feel like something needs to go in the front left 🤔 We shall see!#lego #legobotanicalcollection #legosucculents
Work in progress: micro Hogwarts! It started with Work in progress: micro Hogwarts! It started with the Build Your Own Hogwarts bag, and I decided I wanted to try to do all or most of Hogwarts! I don’t have enough pieces though (I’ve already run out of roof tiles), I will keep working on the tan structures while I decide whether to get more of the same bags, or order sand green pieces separately.
