When you’re not okay

19 October 2019 by kristarella 1 Comment

I have spoken about depression and anxiety before. I have made some significant strides lately in thinking more positively, and dealing with many of the symptoms I experience, but occasionally things are overwhelming and I just have no idea what to do about it. I know others can feel the same way; it’s why “mindfulness” […]

Craft Icons: Free Download

6 March 2015 by kristarella 1 Comment

I recently wanted to make a Keep Calm and Crochet On poster. I know the whole Keep Calm thing is a bit over, but that’s just how I was feeling that day. I was rather disappointed at the complete lack of craft-related icons in both the Keep Calm iPhone apps and what I could find […]

6 September 2013 by kristarella 3 Comments

For those of us that have been using WordPress for a while the idea of posts and pages, their differences and how to use them, might be pretty obvious. As I’ve been running WordPress training courses over the last year I’ve noticed that this is something that is a particularly new and sometimes difficult to […]

Mod TimThumb for WPMU and Thesis

5 May 2010 by kristarella

WPMU media locations WPMU implements a URL rewrite for uploaded media so that the location of an uploaded file is given as http://www.example.com/files/2009/01/image.jpg, but the actual URL of the file is http://www.example.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/BLOG_ID/files/2009/01/image.jpg (where BLOG_ID is the ID of the blog in question). TimThumb problem The easiest way to specify the URL for a post image […]

Edit EPS files in Inkscape on Mac

4 March 2010 by kristarella

EPS files have their uses, for sure, but they seem to be a standard output of Adobe Illustrator, which is a bit sad, because Inkscape (the open source vector editor I use) can’t open them (without some hassle with ghostscripts or something). Recently I needed to change the colour of an EPS image and I […]

Page specific headers in Thesis

28 August 2009 by kristarella

I’ve done several posts about Thesis headers before: Thesis full-width headers, Full-width headers in Thesis 1.5 and CSS Custom Headers. All of those lead you in the same general direction: a single custom header for your blog. I recently got asked for step-by-step instructions on how to specify different headers on specific pages. So, I’m […]

Nail refresh with a 🌈 of subtle ombres, and yummy home made dinner of pepper steak (recipe in high protein cookbook by @helena__sly) and protein cheesecake with berries. With my sense of smell missing there are a lot of things I can't taste, but I could taste most of this 👌🏻#smallwins #sistaco
I have completely lost my sense of smell. Hopefull I have completely lost my sense of smell. Hopefully only temporarily! It is quite surreal knowing there is something strong smelling and not detecting it at all. Last night I burned these almonds and couldn't smell a thing, so I went and smelled the gin and whisky bottles... Nothing! 🦠👃

For the most part it is working pretty well, but I cracked it (in a similar fashion to Mark in the pic) about half an hour ago. It's okay, cry is done, and we're getting on with dinner and bedtime.
