I might have mentioned that I am trying to learn how to use Blender. This is my first 3D creation. The first tutorial I did was a 2D smiley and it was really just getting the hang of selecting, moving and scaling, rather than producing something pretty. I realise these hearts are not the most remarkable creation. In fact there’s a funny colour quality about them and I’m not really sure where is came from. All the same there are lots of things in this tutorial that I learned and you can tell from the end product. I learnt how to manipulate a model in 3D, how to give it a colour, how to add and change a light source, how to make a background colour and for some reason there’s a stars thing as well, and how to make things reflective. Finally and most difficult I figured out how to change the active camera to render the image from different angles. It involved having the layers locked and selecting the camera you want and activating it using ctrl+NumPad0 or apple key instead of ctrl if you’re using a mac. For some reason my default 3D window wouldn’t show me the original camera, light source or the lock button so it was very frustrating. Got it in the end though!
So now I need to do some more challenging tutorials and learn more things, or learn to do the things I’ve learnt better. 😀
