We had a successful Christmas!
On Christmas Eve we had afternoon tea with Mother-in-law and others, dinner with Father-in-law and others, playing in the band at the 11pm service at church, which also went very well, praise God. It wasn’t looking great in our rehearsal during the week and then when we got there we’d forgotten half of it. We remembered and it was pretty good.
Before dinner we had some cocktails, unfortunately I accepted one before I knew it had rum in it. I don’t think rum agrees with my taste buds or my stomach. It wasn’t too bad but I felt a little queasy.
Christmas Day was great! I loved spending time with my family. It wasn’t extremely hot, for the first time in several years I think. I’d been thinking for a couple of weeks that Christmas might not be hot and it wasn’t. Some people were wearing jackets! There was plenty of champagne (some of it actual champagne, i.e. from Champagne, France) and there was plenty of food. There was lots of people over but their arrivals and departures were quite staggered so we were never wanting for company.
We got to my parents’ place just in time for presents with them before everyone else came. Mum was worried because Nan was coming, and having been in the retirement place she wouldn’t have been able to buy anyone presents. Conveniently my uncle and cousin and Nan had to leave about 3pm so we got to spend time with them but then only had time to give Nan her present before they left and everyone else exchanged presents.
I’m not working this week. It’s nice to have a bit of a holiday, even at home, perhaps especially at home. I’m not sure when I’m getting paid, the system doesn’t work very well at normal times of year, now I’ve spent a bunch of money on presents but I have no idea when the pay system resumes and whether they’ve processed my time sheet. Oh well, wait and see.
I might post about presents later. I’ve been making a new blog template, I hope I can get it done by new year, I also hope that if I get it done before then I can hold out until then to put it up.
How was your Christmas?!

I’m so happy to hear you had a good Christmas-I know you were worried about it all working out…mine was fantastic and I’m a little sad that it’s over.
