I was going to be a totally awesome housewife1 tonight. I stopped at the asian supermarket on the way home because we didn’t have much meal makings in the fridge and cupboard. I took a little look around at what they had and decided I was going to steam Prawn Dumplings and BBQ Pork Buns and also cook Nasi Goreng rice with prawns. I’m not sure what Nasi Goreng tastes like but I’m sure it would have been good. I had just decided on those things when I noticed that they were closing. Quick! I had to get the things and leave. I got to the register and said “You take eftpos right?” She said “No. Cash only.” I was so disappointed. I didn’t even have five cents, I spent literally all my cash yesterday and I didn’t take any more out today because it was free lunch day due to PhD seminars. So I’m going to try to make some kind of fried rice situation. It won’t have very many ingredients since all I really have apart from the sauces and things that are usually in stock is ham and eggs. I should be able to make something fairly tasty though.
1 I don’t know if I count as a housewife because I work and study and do other things, I’m really not here that often. Plus the bathroom needs cleaning, badly, I thought “Yes, I must do that on Saturday.” Then I realised that we are going away on the weekend.

Hey Kristarella!
Bummer about the store closing etc, but I see you fixed it later on with yummy rice.
I giggled a bit when you put a disclaimer on your “housewife” status…not because you did it, but because it revolved around the bathroom not being clean!!!
😉 As far as whether or not you are indeed a housewife, well…I suppose it doesn’t matter. You’re a wife and that’s the lucky part!!

Mags, you are correct – I’m very lucky to be married to my hubby.
