I can hardly believe it! After all my searching for a plugin that could expand links (without using a form) and not finding one. Then after all my attempts to write a plugin that would do that, I found one already made! Vincent has made one that works nicely, it can even use Scriptaculous effects if you want fancy sliding down.
It would be nice if this plugin produced a widget, but alas it doesn’t and apparently I don’t have the skills to make it do that. However, if you install the ExecPHP widget, which are like text widgets for executing PHP, you can insert the appropriate PHP to call up your enhanced links. It’s really easy!
I’m a bit disappointed that my plugin didn’t work. If you want to download it and tell me what you think is wrong with it feel free. N.B. if you activate it as is it will probably cause your page to go blank. If you remove the final register_sidebar_widget it will activate ok, but it won’t do anything.

Heh, yeh… I’m sure I learnt something, whether I’ll ever be able to use it is a different thing!
