It was the first day back at uni for the year. It was good. My first lecture was at 11am so it was easy to give myself heaps of time to get there and grab a coffee, see if I could get my laptop set up for wireless access and get to the lecture. I couldn’t get access by the way, you have to make appointments to do it and the next one wasn’t until Friday the 9th of March!!!
Getting my coffee I saw George from church so I went and said hi to him. In between George and class I saw some girls I took a class with a year ago so I said hi to them. When I got to class I saw a great girl, Steph, who I used to sit with in 2nd year so I sat with her. After class Steph had to fill out forms and stuff, I went to the library and tried to connect to the internet (I even tried through my mobile phone which is possible but I needed name and password and had no idea what they would be) but couldn’t so I just read. My sister-in-law saw me through the library window so she came to say hi. I grabbed some food on the way to class and ran into Nic from church who is doing MTS. In class I saw one of the girls I’d seen earlier and she sat with me (I was already sitting). I hope I was her first choice of sitting rather than feeling obliged to sit with me, although somehow I don’t think she’s one to feel obliged to do anything…
After class I bought a couple of course manuals that I need – it’s a complete mad house in the bookstore. I ran into Linda from French class last year, we had a short chat about Penny who was also in our class and we haven’t been able to contact her – I think she has manic depression and was having a depressive second half of last year. I was in the wrong section in the bookstore – they moved Biology to the other side of the store since last time I was there!
On the way to the bus stop I ran into someone else who knew me (I think she’s one of the younger girls at church – how terrible that I don’t know) I was on the phone so it wasn’t a big crisis, smile and wave. The trip home was a bit annoying. I typed up half of a lecture from today, which was good to get started on, I didn’t have enough room to look at my books with my computer open to finish. I watched Trop Fest finalist movies on the way home, some of them had vomit and masturbating – I hope I didn’t offend the lady next to me. I turned off the vomit one and was going to turn off the masturbating one but then the scene passed and I figured there couldn’t be much more of it – there wasn’t.
Umbrellas were useless in the wind and rain. I’m feeling a bit tired and annoyed this evening but I’m happy that I know people at uni. I’m not a loner!!!
