This cough is so annoying! Also, my ears are all blocked and my own sounds, like speaking and drinking, echo in my head while everything else is muffled. I didn’t realise how pronounced it was until I got in the car and I could barely hear the engine, which apparently I usually listen to to know when to change gears.
We had pancakes this morning. They were good! I wasn’t exactly sure what ingredients to use, some people use sugar, some don’t. So, I looked up a recipe at Chefs.com for buttermilk pancakes, but I don’t have any buttermilk so I used regular milk and it worked.
I started on my Christmas shopping just now! It wasn’t too painful. I found a park right away since it was an hour before closing on a Sunday. I had also scouted out a few things using junk mail and shopping time when I didn’t have any money to buy anything. I got my little bro… ooh hang on, I won’t say in case I tell him about this blog, forgetting that I wrote what I got everyone for Christmas.
My husband doesn’t really like Christmas, he hates the commercial hype and he really doesn’t understand the whole present giving thing. In fact at any occasion: birthdays; Easter; Christmas; when we have dinner with the Jewish part of his family for Rosh Hashanah, Passover and any other holidays I’m not aware of; the older members of the family give around scratchies. It’s fun, but I think the most we’ve ever won is $2 – I think he doesn’t understand that either. He always buys me something that I’ll really like though, somthing that is very “me”. For my 18th birthday he gave me the first half of season 5 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer which was extremely cool. We weren’t even going out then. For Christmas he gave me season 6. For my 19th birthday he gave me a hat stand. I have a lot of hats, so the hat stand was really cool. I didn’t wear my hats much this winter though. I’m not sure why, maybe because I had good hair. Previously I did not have good hair and looked much cuter with a hat on. I’m growing my hair now; perhaps next winter the hats will make a comeback.
That was a fair rant… I was going to say, for the first time ever I’m living somewhere with no Christmas decorations. I did buy him a great Christmas present though – he’ll love it! I just hope it gets here; I had to order it from the US. It probably should have gotten here by now, I’m hoping it’s just slow because everyone else is sending their overseas gifts and cards.
Ahh, I didn’t buy any Christmas cards for relatives that I won’t be seeing… next time, maybe I’ll go shopping again tomorrow. I missed my Chai latte because the cafe closed. 🙁
