On Sunday we had a meeting to organise bible study groups, or “growth groups” as my church calls them at the moment. The lead up to the meeting was a bit funny, with several people asking me if we were leading one and my only response was that we hadn’t been asked. Someone thought we had been asked and I got an email about this meeting. I made it clear we hadn’t been asked but were willing to think about doing it.
So now hubby is leading a growth group (with me in tow) and he’s pretty much asked everyone on our list if they’d like to be in it. It’s quite exciting, I’m looking forward to this year.
At the end of the meeting we were getting the heads-up on the series of talks that would happen through the year at night church in case we were planning to follow any of them in our studies. One of the series is eschatology. Everyone seemed to get a bit excited about that and said they liked that. I had to ask hubby what it meant, I’d never heard about it before. Apparently it’s the doctrinal study of the “end times”. I think it will be interesting, I’m looking forward to it. I just wish there weren’t so many big words that I don’t understand. 😛
