Thirteen favourite music moments from Buffy
Taking a break from favourite episodes! 1. I’ll Remember You by Sophie Zelmanie – beautiful song in the episode Angel, the one where Buffy and Angel first kiss and she discovers he’s a vampire. 2. It Doesn’t Matter by Alison Krauss & Union Station – when Buffy is brooding on her way back to school in season 2, after her dying ordeal in season 1. 3. Sugar Water by Cibo Matto – Buffy does that “sexy dance” with Xander to make Angel jealous. 4. Stupid Thing by Nickel – Buffy dances at the Bronze while Spike susses her out. 5. Wolves by Clement and Murray – Buffy dances (there’s a lot of dancing in this show!) with Tom at the frat party. He later tries to sacrifice her and Cordy to a giant snake thing. 6. I Am The Walrus by The Beatles – okay so this song doesn’t actually play but I include it because Xander makes a really obvious reference to it when he says “Oh, okay, here we go, I am the bug man, koo koo koo choo.” It’s also one of my favourite Beatles songs. 7. Got The Love by Average White Band – this plays as Xander walks through the school hall while every female eyeballs him like she wants him and every guy looks like he hates him. The women are under a love spell! 8. Full of Grace by Sarah McLachlan – playing as Buffy watches her friends go into the school (while they wonder where she is) and then gets on a bus and leaves Sunnydale after having to kill Angel. 9. Back To Freedom by Bellylove – at the Bronze while Willow and Xander wonder where Buffy is and how she’s doing. 10. Wild Horses by The Sundays – Angel surprises Buffy at the prom to give her that one perfect night before he leaves for Los Angeles. 11. Lucky by Bif Naked – plays while Buffy and Parker dance at a party and then do some other kind of dancing π Buffy ends up not being so lucky in that relationship though. 12. Dip by THC – the song that Shy (lead singer is Veruca, the female werewolf that Oz has a thing with) plays at the Bronze while all the boys are mesmerised by Veruca. 13. Fate by Four Star Mary – played by Dingoes Ate My Baby in the show. Willow get upset when she hears it at a party because Oz wrote it and he just left her. These are just my favourite up to season four. Of course there is the whole musical episode which is great and you can get those tracks on CD from a store or you can get tracks from here. Put your Thursday Thirteen link here. |

I think I am the only person alive who hasn’t seen an episode of Buffy! I want to but there’s a LOT to catch up on! I can get the dvds from the library but they only give you two days to watch it (WTH?) and I run out of time. FEH.
Will have to check back on your list when I *DO* watch, though!
Happy Thursday!

Yep, the prom episode, with Wild Horses, makes me cry every time. Yep, I know I’m a nerd. π
Darla says
I remember the episodes, but not the music. Except for that “goodbye to you” song they played throughout the whole last season. *sniff*

Great list – mine’s up!

Not only is this the best Thursday 13 code that I have ever seen, it inspired me to do my very first Thursday Thirteen, all about the Buffy!!! So I’m sorry, but I stole your graphic, but I did give you credit! Long live the Buffista!!!

I don’t really watch Buffy but was there with my friend, and there was a moment where they played a Sarah McLachlan version of the Prayer of St. Francis. Very moving. I went out the next day searching frantically for a copy of the song because I liked it so much!

Coo Coo Chee Choo! “I am the Walrus” is a favorite Beatle song, although I do like them all. Great list of songs! -Margie

Thanks for visiting everyone! I will visit all of your 13s very soon!
Lisa – check out my last couple of 13s, you’re not the only person that hasn’t seen it, don’t worry! You should definitely check them out… can you renew your borrowing by calling or on the net with the library? You might be able to get them for more time if no one else wants them.
Carmen – don’t worry, you’re not the only Buffy nerd!
Darla – if I do another songs list Goodbye To You will definitely be there.
Blackeyedgurl – not only do I not mind but I’m flattered that I inspired you and that you liked my header image enough to use it π
Christina – I think I have that song too, I’ll have to check when it’s played in the show. They do (did) good things with music on that show.

Good list! I too am a Buffy fan! Although you have missed one of my favorite songs out! Goodbye to you by Michelle Branch at the End of Tabula Rasa is one of my faves!
Also the score from Hush is very good!

Okay I am late but I had to add my own.
I like Wild Horses by the Sundays like you mentioned.
I also like Goodbye To You song by Michelle Branch at the Bronze in the episode after the musical where Buffy ends up kissing Spike again.
