On the topic of gloves… I feel like I look like Michael Jackson when I work with latex gloves on while I’m wearing my black jacket.
We had a chocolate cake craving today because it’s cold, therefore we are more hungry than usual and on the front of one of the sections of today’s newspaper was chocolate cake. Luckily we are close to Randwick shops so we could go out and get cake! Mmmm, chocolate mud cake.
I drove to work today – the traffic was pretty ugly. Aside from that I was listening to Dido, her No Angel album. There is a song on there that I just never know the words to. I always think it’s something like “take my hand and if I’m lying to you, I’ll always feel all warm, if I’m lying to you” having looked up the actual lyrics at the official Dido site it says “I’ll always be alone, if I’m lying to you”. Does that make sense to anyone? I don’t get it. I’m not paying out Dido because I was listening to her and I like her music alot, I was just struck by how weird that line is.
That reminds me of my cousin. When we were quite small and playing around on my Dad’s computer while listening to CDs. We put on Enya and my cousin was singing along “Say no way, say no way, say no way doo doo, doo doo…” and I informed her that the lyrics were actually “Sail away, sail away, sail away doo doo, doo doo…” (well the doos are not so much lyrics as my impression of the instrumental music). She couldn’t have disagreed with me more. I’m not sure if she really believed me even after I showed her on the CD cover that the song was called Sailaway.
I also used to think that “Layla, got me on my knees layla…” by Eric Clapton was “Baby, got me on my knees baby…” (the baby had to be said more like babeh).
What song words do you chronically get wrong?
HOLY COW HOW WEIRD! LAYLA IS ON THE RADIO RIGHT NO IN CONNECTICUT AS I WAS READING THIS POST!
I am completely freaked out now!
Hah! That is totally awesome. Same sort of thing happened to me yesterday, I called my house and left my hubby a message saying I was going to the pub “for a beer, actually no, I’m driving so I’ll be drinking soft drink” and then I opened an email from him of which the first line was “speaking of beer…” and no, he wasn’t home to hear the message either.
Hey Kristarella,
The cousin that sings Say no way to Enja here. Goobs showed me the post. I could’nt stop laughing i can’t believe you remember that!!
On the subject of when i was a child and and beleiving in things so strongly even if they are incorrect, do you remember the show Saturday Disney and how you use to make things and write letters and send them in and you could win all those great prizes. I did it quite a few times with you remember we use to make colouring in pictures and stuff. Well the first time i did it i wrote the letter made puzzles even sewed a pillow together in the shape of a mickey mouse head. Being only 7 i was quite proud of my accomplishments. I showed mum all the great things i had made and then she burst my bubble. Everytime i wrote the word Disney which mind you was on everything I had writted DisneP. So mum informed me that that is not actually the way you spell it. I told her she was wrong and that you spell it with a P at the end not a Y and that the P was silent. For a long time i did not believe her but please go and look at the Disney logo you can hardly blame it really does look like a P at the end!!!
Anyway, missing you millions
Love you xox rommy
Yeh I remember the saturday disney stuff – I’ve never heard that story of yours before – I just looked at the logo, I understand!
