Google: highly analytical

31 August 2007 by kristarella

I realised recently that I had not been paying much attention to my StatCounter account. I didn’t really check on who was coming from where and who was looking at what and while StatCounter is free and they offer lots of different analyses, I found it difficult to trawl through. So I made an account […]

Social Bookmarking

27 August 2007 by kristarella

I’ve never really been into the social bookmarking scene. I have a del.icio.us account that I used regularly for a short time and haven’t really used since. Recently I installed madKast, but I was disappointed when it messed up my blog theme. I gave it several weeks while I waited for a reply to my […]

Government Websites

27 August 2007 by kristarella

Do you ever find that using a government website just makes you want to kill someone? I tried to re-register on the Centrelink website today to make a claim. Re-registering does not let you reset questions, so even though the answers shouldn’t change to things like “What was your first stuffed toy?” and “What was […]

Open Clipart is back!

22 August 2007 by kristarella

Open Clipart is a brilliant resource for clipart! There’s an abundance of SVGs that people have lovingly made and uploaded for your use. Some also come as PNGs if that’s more convenient for you. Access to the images was down for some time while they were doing something with servers, but now they’re back up […]

Fixing my blog problems

11 August 2007 by kristarella

I decided to check the status of my support request on the wordpress.org forums today. It was regarding the missing navigational links on the front page of my blog. It was very difficult to navigate posts because there were no links to older posts. There were no replies to my query, but a saw a […]

Put up advent calendar… only 5 days late. Hoping Put up advent calendar… only 5 days late. Hoping tomorrow I will flip three top row and catch up on the readings.

Rob Smith preached at our church on Sunday on Isaiah 9, and he said something to the effect of, “they were looking forward to the first advent of the Messaiah, but we look back to his first advent, and look forward to his second.” That added a new dimension to Christmas for me that I don’t often consider.
This Saturday it was so exciting, and humbling, an This Saturday it was so exciting, and humbling, and uplifting (yes, both of those!) to see these—my teachers, training mates, and life mate—achieve their next level of black belt. What a remarkable bunch of humans!

Thanks Mum & Dad (Nelly & Grampa) for looking after Mark so I could be there!

Mark had his very first bus ride today! We went in Mark had his very first bus ride today! We went into the city and checked out the new LEGO store, largest in the world!
Not the easiest in the world to find though! Some champion had put into Google maps that the entrance is via 400 George St, and that it’s in Strand Arcade, neither of which is accurate. The store is in Sydney Arcade (near to, but different from Strand Arcade), and the entrance is on Pitt St. The external signage is tiny from the front; I hope it improves.
We had fun looking at the big builds and great Pick and Build wall!
