Tonight, I went to a farewell party for a Darren, who I worked with and Kulinda his wife. I’m so glad I went. I was so tired this morning, I’ve had bags under my eyes all day. They’re leaving tomorrow and it was a great party.
She is from Kenya and there were more Africans there than I’ve ever seen in one place – damn, do they know how to have fun. There were singers and they were all dancing, shaking their booties. It was great. I danced a bit, any rhythm I ever had has certainly dissipated in my “old age”, or lack of practice.
There was also a Michael Jackson act. It was great. They guy was really weird looking (appropriate I suppose) he really could dance though. You should have seen the way he glided across the floor! He had two girl dancers with him and their act was really nicely coordinated. It made me want to go out and buy Michael Jackson’s History! I took some dodgy phone photos:
I’m catching the train home, Yvonne from work insisted that I message her when I get home. It’s really nice that she cares and doesn’t want to wait until tomorrow to find out if I’m okay. Sometimes work seems like a bummer, everyone leaving, moving on, having babies and so on, it’s breaking up… there’s still a connection though. I love them and I hope that when we all cease working in the lab it won’t be the end.
