We went out for lunch at the Living Room in North Sydney for our anniversary. It was really nice; we got entrees and dessert. We both had a marscapone pannacotta in a brandy toffee bucket with raspberry coulis. Very yummy! The atmosphere was nice, clean and modern with an old-school feel; there were wooden floors, big leather lounges (but we sat up and tables to eat). I liked it there.
It was a bit stressful getting there. I said I’d meet hubby at the train station at 12:20 but I didn’t want to walk in the pouring rain so I drove to the station, then I decided the trouble of getting a park was just as much as driving to North Sydney. Driving to North Sydney was more trouble. Half of the highway was flooded. Near construction in Chatswood water was flowing over the median strip, about half a foot deep at the highest point of the road. Visibility was pretty low due to heavy rain. I got there late and had trouble finding park. Eventually I met hubby and we found the restaurant. From there it was nice.
After popping in to Hornsby to pre-order a Nintendo Wii we went to visit Mel, Rich and baby Oliver. I was amazed to find Mel standing up and fully dressed when I got there. I thought after a C-section and everything she’d be in bed. Oliver is way cute, he was sleeping so we didn’t get to hold him. I’ll probably get to hold him when he gets home. I took some photos with my camera phone, they’re not too bad considering the tininess of the camera. They all look the same because he was sleeping and didn’t move much , it was cute when he moved and opened his mouth a bit, but I missed that with the camera.
