I just had a meeting for Fully SIC – the school years 6-8 youth group I lead at at church. I thought this might be a less great part of the day but actually it went really well. It was quite productive and encouraging. It was a really pleasant atmosphere and I didn’t end up volunteering for heaps and heaps of stuff (just a few things which I was already doing anyway but now I know a little more about them) which I often do and get stressed out about later.
I had an infected toe today. It hurt a lot! My toenails on my big toes have grown in in the last 3 months which is annoying because I didn’t cut them any differently to the rest of my life. So the other big toe got infected really badly a while ago but this time I was sort of prepared. I looked at it and thought “Yep, that’s red, and sore and getting worse.” So I whipped out the antibacterial ointment (Fucidin) from last time and put a bandaid over it and went to bed. It was worse this morning but I refreshed the ointment and over the day it has diminished. It was very hard to walk though because my toe was too painful to walk properly but walking on the side of my foot caused cramps and such. Not cool! Then before the meeting I cleaned it up a bit my and redid the ointment and now I can actually squeeze my toe without pain! Yay for Fucidin!
I was so tired at work today. We were also quite late because the 8:35am express train was super late, like the 8:14am express train hadn’t even come at 8:30am and they didn’t know when it was coming. So we had to take an all stops. Then the bus went the wrong way at Central station so we took the slow route to work. That worked out fine though because there were Post Graduate talks on and there’s always a free lunch before them and it doesn’t count as a lunch break when we go to them. I was able to leave at the same time and not lose any pay for being late in the morning. On the tired front I hope to go to bed a lot earlier than last night so that I’m not dragging the chain all day.
I’ve been reading cool things in Hosea and Habakuk lately – I hope to be able to post about them tomorrow.
My poor hubby is getting sick. He feels crappy and his nose is nearly running off his face. He’s a smart boy though, I’ve seen him drinking lots of water. I don’t know if it’s a conscious thing or if he just does it to soothe his throat, either way it’s good for him.
